Evidence first. Always.
Halal requirements are personal. Our role is to make recorded evidence visible and distinguish what is known from what needs confirmation.
Certified
Identifiable certification evidence and the certifier are recorded. Certification may have a limited scope or expiry; confirm current details directly.
Business declared
The business itself explicitly says its food is halal. This is a self-declaration, not independent certification.
Halal options
The business explicitly offers some halal items. This does not mean the whole menu or operation is halal. Ask about preparation and handling.
Unverified
We do not have sufficient evidence to support a halal claim. Cuisine, ethnicity, names, neighborhoods, religious imagery and customer assumptions are never evidence.
Catering is checked separately
A restaurant listing does not automatically mean catering is offered. Confirmed catering requires a source, with specific services recorded only when known.
Dates and corrections
Profiles show recorded sources and last-checked dates. Status can change. Confirm current requirements directly with the business and use listing corrections to flag outdated information.
