About Us | Pizza Veloce – 100% Halal Pizza in Astoria, Queens About Pizza Veloce Ben moved to New York from California in 1998 and came up under restaurateur Tony Fortuna, serving as Executive Chef at the Lenox Room, T-Bar NYC, and T-Bar Hamptons before leading the kitchens at La Pecora Bianca and Lupetto. Pizza Veloce is the concept he'd been building toward: a 100% halal scratch kitchen where everything is made fresh from quality ingredients — classic New York pies mixed up with global, eclectic flavors that taste like Queens, the most diverse borough in the world. Luigi came to New York from Ecuador in 1990 and has cooked in the city's Italian kitchens ever since — with Pino Luongo and legendary pizzaiolo Ciro Verde at Coco Pazzeria, and with Francesco Zimone at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele. Three decades in, he still truly loves making pizza. At Pizza Veloce he runs the kitchen day to day — the dough, the sauces, the oven. If your pie came out right, El Maestro is the reason. 34-01 36th Ave, © 2026 Pizza Veloce LLC. All rights reserved.
